ok, here's something for the morning, a freakin milestone for past century's rock-history; numerous songs homaged this one, but nothing comes even close to the original song and artist, although there were quite a few remarkable tries; David Bowie - "Ashes To Ashes". from the album "Scary Monsters" (1982) /actually 1980 ... Ashes to ashes, funk to funky We know major toms a junkie Strung out in heavens high Hitting an all-time low Time and again I tell myself Ill stay clean tonight But the little green wheels are following me Oh no, not again Im stuck with a valuable friend Im happy, hope youre happy too One flash of light but no smoking pistol I never done good things I never done bad things I never did anything out of the blue, woh-o-oh Want an axe to break the ice Wanna come down right now Ashes to ashes, funk to funky We know major toms a junkie Strung out in heavens high Hitting an all-time low My mother said to get things done Youd better not mess with major tom My mother said to get things done Youd better not mess with major tom My mother said to get things done Youd better not mess with major tom My mother said to get things done Youd better not mess with major tom APC'sversion /MJK's performance is quite original, as usually then an older tribute (1983)from a german artist, Major Tom (Völlig losgelöst) wakes memories..good ol'times

the liryc for the first one is not the same on the video =\ it's just a part of the lyrics, i posted; the 3rd video is a tribute to the original, not a cover, like the sec one; here's more about the meaning of the song: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashes_to_Ashes_(song)

I saw COB in concert as pre-band to Pain/Soilwork, some six, seven yrs ago, in Germany; I think this is my favorite song of those i heard from them: Children of Bodom/"Everytime I Die"
Then, here's a vid from the band PAIN, a side-project, founded by " Peter Tagtgren", from " HYPOCRISY", Sweden's probably best Death-Metal band's lead guitarist and head : PAIN/"Dark Fields of Pain"/live at Osnabrueck, 07 (I was at the exact same concert in Osna, only it was about '02 or '03 not '07) I really like their music and style, cool projects from Tagtgren, hopefully he'll stay in business for a while! " Killing Art" from the " Abducted" Album from 1996 "Roswell 47", 1st song from their '99-album " Pleasure of Molestation" (freakin' hell of a song! just don't like its title=p) a newer one called Eraser (Live) - 1999 Disconnected Magnetic Corridors- 1999 Paled Empty Sphere and last, but not least, another great song, less "savage" though, yet inspirative: " Slipping Away" from the "Abducted"-album, as well(veeery lovely!) ..and yes, they are a very unusual d/m-band, if you want so; another reason i really like their stuff; btw, P.Tagtgren is known for preferably playing his 12-stringer. hope, you'll enjoy.
