recording a demo is atcually pretty easy, once you got the right keys bound.
here is a small set of commands yoiu can copy to a notepad and save as, ooo I DK DEMO.CFG
bind F10 "g_synchronousclients 1; wait; record; wait; g_synchronousclients 0"
bind F11 "stoprecord"
thats it, exec that cfg (that u saved as demo.cfg in baseq3 folder.
to use, press F10. - now your recording. to stop hit F11. now it stops.
try not to record more than 1 game at a time as it gets pretty hard to try to convert to a real meadia file later

Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but using g_synch 1 while recording makes the gameplay a little choppy.. So you can set it back to g_synch 0 and it will still keep recording but it makes it easier to play..
Just a tip..

I forgot to say WAIT in between commands in the start line of the script. - i edited it above to read: bind F10 "g_synchronousclients 1; wait; record; wait; g_synchronousclients 0"
bind F11 "stoprecord"
f10 to start, f11 to stop
sorry for the typo

In OSP you can use:
/autorecord
Will begin recording and automatically date, name and timestamp the demo. To finish recording, /stoprecord as usual.

I use this set rec1 "stoprecord; g_synchronousclients 1; record; g_synchronousclients 0" bind j vstr rec1 bind f12 stoprecord echo "^2J ^1To ^4Stop/Start ^7- ^2F12 ^1To ^4Stop It even tells u how to work it ( i always make it tell me how to work it or i would never work anything out, i have about 30 echos in my cfg ) J starts recording a new demo so u dont need to hit 2 buttons and f12 to finish all it does i think is prove how fuckin lazy i am

Hmm I got another tip prehaps n ot all of you know but what I have been using since I started recording is
/Bind e record tryingatrick /bind r stoprecord
In this way you wont get any spam like demo 001 demo 002 Untill you finaly landed or made a good demo, you just rename the demo when it is like you want it.
