the first rambo movie is best by far - the most original and memorable, i saw it when it came out as a teenager and EVERY KID I KNEW WANTED A KNIFE LIKE THAT - " Rambo-Knife"

Of course , Im 32 years old so I've known the rambo movies from the first time they came out . And who couldn't love a movie with a guy that can stand still in the wide open and calmly kill a million enemies with a crappy but cool looking survival knife while they charge at him with 10,000 AK-47's, RPG's, tanks, nuclear warheads, raging camels(containg a million ton PooPoo Payload), rocks, sticks, broken bottles, bows and arrows, and a scorching case of herpes!!!! Ok sorry, I exaggerated slightly but not much! Anyway yes I was still a fan .

Yea we all wanted that knife , but I couldn't afford it either . But as a knife lover, collector, somewhat knife maker and definate blade abuser, I now would prefer a more practical usable knife . Well, keep Rambo's blade design (cause it was cool looking and subtract the BS hollow survival handle and add a full tang with maybe a nice durable stainless pommel to withstand vigorous pounding and Ill buy it ! It was definately one of the first movie knives that made non knife lovers switch sides . My alltime favorite though was the big nasty blade wielded by the native american "Billy" in Predator ;D! In the words of Mick Dundee "now that's a knife!" . LOL, funny how topics change, but I still have tons of scaled knife design drawings I made 15 years ago . Some simple and practical and some a bit towards fatansy and one BIG 15" blade predator copy . Anyway those posts just reminded me of all those nights I spent designing blade after blade ... who knows maybe one day I'll get the right tools and actually bring some of those old designs to life ;D!!!! But if anyone plans on going into the wilderness and needs a good sidekick blade .. I recommend a big badass drop style chopping blade called a kukri. These are made in India for thier ghurka military regiment and sell here for $20 - $40 now ($20 back in my day, prob $40 now, maybe a little less). Features a 12" big belly dropped blade made of high carbon steel (not so hard thats its brittle ), full tang and wooden riveted handle. Im talking the no frills one (the plain jane), they make a few, some with 15" blades and most with decorative brass trimming, the regular isnt the prettiest thing but it definately proved itself to me and my best friend through years of abuse and could chop as good if not better than a hatchet, and no decorations means no worry of decorative parts flying off . This knife lasted about 10 years of brutal abuse while other knives of many types and much higher priced "made in USA" models didnt last long at all. Not sure anyone really cares but if one of you is a knife enthusiast then at least someone got some advise that Id swear by . and BTW I am in no way putting down USA made blades, in fact I prefer them .. especially a good USA made military knife such as the KABAR (another worthy survival knife), but Im just throwing out some info to a knife that excelled when put to abuse (some very extreme) and changed my mind forever about the question "if you were stranded in the wild and could have any one knife, what would it be?". Of course I love a good fillet knife also ... specially around dinner time !!! Ok enough of my 2 cents ... we now return you to your regularly scheduled program .....

lol nice apparition. Yea actually FirstBlood is really a classic but I really enjoy even more watching Rambo 3 lol (and now there's tank and 10000 enemies heh). I'm a knife collector also, I have about 50 knife and some are from the designer Gil Hibben (autenthic limited editon such as dragon lord and odyssey). Also same designer that made all Rambo knifes and they are very difficult to find now (when they are original FirstBlood Part 2). The First Blood part 1 knife have been made for two person: Stallone and Hibben himself. hehe...tought the best hunting knife I found so far for is called "Buck". I think everyone that hunt know it, it's around 125$ here in Canada and it last for years and years. Great looking.
